Clean Lebanon at Nahr el Kalb Tunnel
On Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th of October, Clean Lebanon with the help and collaboration of the Lebanese Army, the Company of Sukleen, the students of Jesus and Mary, Les Freres Maristes Jbeil and LIU, launched a Green Event for the Cleaning of the Historical Tunnel of Nahr El Kalb.
We all gathered at the historical Tunnel of Nahr El Kalb under the mural of independence for the only purpose of Cleaning this patrimoine and preserve its beauty.
Clean Lebanon would like to thank all the volunteers who made these two days possible and memorable:
- Mr John Hawa ( Hawa Chicken ) for providing us with sandwiches for all the volunteers.
- Libby’s Interbrand S.A.L , for providing beverages to all the volunteers.
- The Internal Security Forces (ISF) for making our job easier by providing all the necessary safety precautions.

Clean Lebanon is launching an environmental day to clean this historical tunnel on saturday 15th and sunday 16th of October from 9 a.m to 1 p.m with the collaboration of the Lebanese Army, the Red Cross, the NGO Baldati and number of volunteers. Écologie au Liban, défi relevéby Emmanuel Cadé Association L’ONG Clean Lebanon a organisé récemment un brunch à la Marina de Dbayeh afin de se faire davantage connaître du grand public et de collecter des fonds au profit de sa cause : pour un Liban plus propre. La cause environnementale en est encore à ses débuts au Liban, même si elle acquiert de plus en plus d’ampleur dans le pays. La création de l’association Cleanlebanon n’est pas une initiative purement libanaise, mais elle est l’idée d’une Vénézuélienne, Faenza Torbey. Mariée à un Libanais, elle a été frappée par la beauté du pays, mais aussi par sa pollution, et a décidé d’agir. Aidée et conseillée par un groupe d’amis libanais, elle a créé il y a huit mois l’association Cleanlebanon. |
